Start with the problem

One service. One useful next step.

A fictional home-cleaning business wants more useful enquiries. Work through the brief, compare two approaches and see the reasoning behind a stronger answer.

PRACTICE BUSINESS · CLEARHOME

The goal is a quote request.
What should the page do?

ClearHome offers home-cleaning services in a defined service area. A visitor should understand what is included, check whether the service fits and request a quote. The business needs the type of cleaning, property size and area to assess the enquiry.

Then improve the page.

FIRST DRAFT

“Welcome to the future of cleaning.”

We are passionate about excellence. Discover our amazing solutions and enjoy the best quality.

  • The service is not explained clearly
  • The visitor cannot check suitability
  • “Discover more” does not match the quote goal
IMPROVED DIRECTION

“Need a cleaner home? Tell us what needs cleaning.”

Explain the rooms or service covered, show how a visit works, state the service area and ask for the details needed to prepare a quote.

  • Lead with the service and the customer need
  • Answer the questions that affect the decision
  • Use “Request a cleaning quote” as the next step

A finished direction

Now look at the page,
not just the headline.

ClearHome is a fictional business. For this exercise, its offer is room, kitchen-surface and bathroom cleaning; pest control and repairs are excluded. The service details below are invented teaching facts, not a real cleaning offer.

HOME CLEANING

A cleaner home starts
with a clear plan.

Tell us your area, the size of your home and what needs cleaning. We will use those details to discuss a suitable service and quote.

Request a cleaning quote

Which cleaning do you need?

Ask about general room cleaning, kitchen surfaces or bathrooms. Tell us which spaces need attention. We do not offer pest control, appliance repairs or building work.

What happens after your request?

We review the cleaning type, property size and area you share, then discuss whether the work is suitable and prepare a quote. Your request is not a confirmed appointment; the scope, price and visit time must be agreed first.

Put the idea to work

Make the next decision.

TRY THE DECISION

Which form is the better starting point?

Remember: ClearHome needs enough information to assess the job, while keeping the enquiry easy.

Choose the form you would test first

Understand the choices

The thinking behind the answer.

1. Start with the customer question

The visitor needs to know whether this service fits their home and location. A clever headline is less useful if it hides the service. The first screen should explain the offer and make the next step clear.

Write down three questions before adding page sections: What is included? Can this business serve my area? What happens after I request a quote?

2. Match the form to the job

Ask for information that helps the business respond. The contact number lets the team reply; the area, cleaning type and property size help assess the work. Details that do not affect this first conversation can wait.

This is a starting hypothesis, not a universal form template. A real service may need different information, and the form should be reviewed with the people handling enquiries.

3. Measure the completed enquiry

A click on “Request a quote” shows interest. A successfully saved form is a different event. Record the successful submission separately and check whether the team can retrieve the enquiry.

Then review quality: was the area supported, did the person request the relevant service and could the team contact them? Volume alone does not answer those questions.

4. Improve one meaningful part

After checking the data, choose the next useful change. It might be clearer service information, better area guidance or a shorter form. Explain the problem before choosing the change.

For a practice assignment, state what you would test and what evidence you need. You do not need to invent sales numbers to show good thinking.

Take it further

Create your own version.

Choose a business you understand. Write its audience, offer and next action. Draft a useful page and explain what information the enquiry form should collect.

Before you decide

Good questions. Clear answers.

Is this a real client case study?

ClearHome is a fictional business used in this practice lesson.

Do I need an advertising account to try this lesson?

No. You can draft the page and form on paper or in a document. Focus on the decisions before working in a platform.

What should I create for practice?

Write a headline, list the page sections, choose the form fields and explain which event should count as a successful enquiry. Add a few lines explaining your choices.
